CANDLES

I found her lying helpless, crying on the floor

eagerly listening for a knock on her door

she waited patiently, but still her hopes have died

to see the one she loved from which she is denied

candles shined weakly in the darkness of the night

she faithfully wished as she watched its sparkling light

praying that she may see him before her last day

finally, closed her eyes and slept from where she lay

because she is so weak, she didn't felt him coming

he came, lifted her head and kissed her trembling lips

wrapped his arms around her and whispered on her ear,

"I missed you my love 'coz in my heart you are dear“

“I’m willing to give my life to win your heart

I won’t let the two of us to be apart

You are mine and I’ll be forever yours alone

Because in my life you’re the only light that shone.”

She slowly saw her eyes, saw her beloved

She smiled at him, held his hand and softly she said,

“I am very thankful to the lord who brought you here

I feel that I am so blessed, now that you are near.”

the candles slowly burned and shined as time stood still

the beat of their hearts are the only thing they feel

the rushing of their blood is very dear to hear

they drowned deeply and forgot everything they fear

the moon and stars flickered beyond the horizon

he kissed her lips and their skin flamed with one reason

they exchanged vows and promises they’ll keep

that their love will remain on whatever season

they woke up in the room where the sun dimly shined

she said, “I know my love that now you shall depart

worry you shall not, cause I’ll keep you in my heart

I’ll give you a kiss that you’ll feel though we’re apart.”

he softly replied, “no my love, I will not leave

I won’t go without you, in my arms you shall be

a life without you, in the future I can’t see

forever it may be, you’ll always be with me.”

candles shined weakly in the darkness of the night

red flowers blossomed within the lovers sight

in the midst of nowhere they are prepared to fight

their true love protected them and served as their light

love can make you smile, cause a tear or even kill

like a candle burning even though time still

it shines in the midst of the darkness of the night

though their hearts are lost, they are guided by the light
